Dual engine architecture
Engine A and Engine B each switch between Delay, Comb and Granular, making parallel, serial and hybrid textures easy to set up.
Phantomexposure audio software
CombGrain combines delay memory, comb resonance, granular smear, routed dual-engine interaction, Phasefield movement and a compact character Space section.
Core idea
CombGrain is built around two engines that can each run as Delay, Comb or Granular. The engines can behave independently, interact directly, feed one another, cross-channel ping-pong, or act as a send/return texture layer.
Its character comes from how those blocks push into each other: Delay gives memory, Comb gives pitch and resonance, Granular gives texture, Phasefield gives motion, and Space gives environment.
Engine A and Engine B each switch between Delay, Comb and Granular, making parallel, serial and hybrid textures easy to set up.
Coupled, Decoupled, Series, Ping-Pong and Send/Return modes change the relationship between the two processors.
Attract, Orbit and Shatter pull the engines together, circulate them or break them into unstable fragments.
The fixed matrix stays readable, but destinations change meaning depending on whether the engine is in Delay, Comb or Granular mode.
Room, Hall, Cathedral and Spring add character, with Size, Pre-delay, Scatter, Duck, Mix and Tone controls.
100% Wet can be fully wet with no dry layer, while LIMIT catches hotter experimental settings.
